Mercy Grooms are for instances of SEVERE matting, typically referred to as "pelting." At this point, the cat is encased in mats that are tight to the skin, resulting in restricted movement. It is extremely painful and can cause several health issues. Some mercy grooms require more than one visit to complete depending on the cat's age, temperament, & comfort level. Cats are never forced to endure more than they can bear in one visit.
